This Maine Camp wedding was incredible! Julia and Pete are two adventurous souls that met over 12 years ago while attending the same college. They were friends throughout their college years and then after graduation parted ways. 10 years later their paths crossed again, this time the feelings towards each other were not just of good friends but it was visible something else was definitely there. Julia and Pete are an outdoorsy couple so it was no surprise to me when they said they would be getting married at Julia’s family camp on the lake. I am so excited for you to see this fun and colorful Maine Camp wedding!
It is rare for me to meet the groom before meeting the bride. I was fortunate enough to meet Pete when I was working part time at L.L.Bean. He stepped in as our store manager for a few months and was instantly accepted by our entire staff. Yup, we loved Pete! After I did a store transfer a few months later, I worked with Pete on regular basis. It was during this time that Pete and I would have in depth conversations about Julia and how he completely adored her. He would share stories about their adventures and every day life together. It didn’t take long for Pete to share his proposal plans and I was lucky enough to capture the entire thing for them. After meeting Julia in person, on the day of their engagement, I instantly knew why Pete was so in love with her. She is sweet, down to earth, and absolutely beautiful.
Julia and Pete decided on a first look and I am so glad they did!!! It was incredibly sweet and it took their anxiety away from the rest of the day.
Pete has some awesome gifting skills. A new L.L.Bean hammock and he even made her a handmade card. This couple is not only adventurous but also extremely thoughtful! Pete’s sister Sarah did an incredible job on all of the florals for the wedding. Not only did she put them together but she also grew them!
Julia you are gorgeous!
What would a Maine Camp wedding be without the amazing view of the lake? Their entire wedding ceremony site was so incredibly gorgeous.
During their ceremony Julia surprised Pete by singing to him. It was so beautiful and a special personalized touch during the ceremony.
This is when Pete went in to kiss Julia after she was finished singing and was quickly told it wasn’t time for a kiss!
This bridal party was hilarious and so fun!! I can totally see why they are Julia and Pete’s closest friends!
Just before the reception started these two decided to take a little time to lay in the hammock that was set up on the camp property. I have since decided every couple should take a few minutes to just relax together before heading in for the rest of the celebration.
Anyone who grew up in Aroostook County knows the goodness of this beverage! As a seasonal favorite to many, these two included as much Houlton Farms Dairy as they could, including ice cream at their reception as dessert.
Julia and Pete, I cannot wait to watch the adventures you two take together in your marriage!
