The Bangor area holds a significant place in Ashley and Jon’s love story. Freshman year of college, these two were both on the swimming and diving team at University of Maine. That is exactly where their love story started. After many days at the pool, these two become a couple and the rest is history!
After graduating college, they made their home in the area. It was a no brainer for them to have a Bangor wedding where all of their friends from college and their families lived. I fortunately got to watch the love story of Ashley and Jon unfold while I was in college. They were both models for me on a couple of occasions; they are both super photogenic!
The connection between Ashley and Jon is very apparent to anyone who spends time around them. After spending time with them, you leave with such positive energy. Ashley has the best sense of humor and Jon compliments her with his easy-going personality. Naturally, I could photograph these two all day every day if possible!
Ashley’s bridal suite was in a separate room from her bridesmaids. As a result, this created the perfect space to have a first look with her bridesmaids. It was an incredible moment and I think every single one of them shred a tear the second they saw Ashley. Let alone, there wasn’t a dry eye the entire day!
Foregoing a first look, Ashley and Jon decided to write each other letters. You could feel the love, commitment, and excitement that was written in their letters without even having to read it. I love first looks but consequently, I also love when couples take the time to write something to each other, it seems like a fairytale gesture.
Ashley did decide to do a first look with her dad before she left for the church. The connection between Ashley and her dad is so incredibly sweet. Throughout the day you could see how proud and happy her dad was for her.
Ashley and Jon picked a local and popular Bangor park to have their wedding party, family, and photos of just them taken. We hit it at just the right time of the day and it was gorgeous! A fountain and a water fall! It was the perfect location and near their reception venue. These bridesmaids! They made the day even more fun! Ashley has some of the best ladies as her friends.
When Ashley’s parents got married, they also used this park for some of their wedding photos. It was important to Ashley and Jon, as well as Ashley’s parents, to get a similar photo in front of the water fountain.
Being in front of the camera is so natural for Ashley and Jon. Due to this, I think I could have shot just the two of them all day long! They truly acted like no one was there, they took the moments in, and celebrated together.
Ashley and Jon’s Bangor wedding was so incredibly beautiful. I absolutely love their portraits together in Cascade Park!
The dance moves were on par for these two all night long.
Ashley and her dad’s father-daughter dance was anything but traditional. Ashley choreographed a special dance for them and surprised EVERYONE!
Her sweet Mom, had no idea this dance was going to happen! Therefore, at the end they invited her up to dance with them.
Seriously. These two made my job easy and got dreamy photos! We snuck out of their Bangor wedding reception during sunset. With no location in mind we just left and drove until we found the perfect spot. Finding the sunset in Bangor can be challenging sometimes but it wasn’t that night! On many occasions, just driving around is the best way to find the perfect sunset. I am so glad that Ashley and Jon were willing to trust me and just go with it!
During the last few minutes of sunset, the sky lit up!! It was so incredibly gorgeous! I worked fast so we could get as many photos as possible during this small window of time.
Applaud Ashley and Jon here please. They were in a swamp with lots of mud for this photo!
This party was AMAZING. I don’t think one person was sitting at their table. As a result, the dance floor was packed all night and it was incredible. Ashley and Jon know how to get people moving and know how to have a great party!
Ashley and Jon, wow, thank you for such an amazing day. It has been a pleasure to see your love story develop throughout the years! It was so special to photograph this huge day in your lives. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you!
