When Andrea told me that their wedding was going to take place at the 1812 Farm in Bristol, I was thrilled. There is something about elegant Maine barn weddings that make me super giddy. You may have already seen Andrea & Doug’s sneak peek of their wedding at the 1812 Farm. The day of Andrea and Doug’s wedding called for rain. As I drove from New Hampshire to the 1812 Farm, in the misting rain, all I did was wish that it would just stop in time for them to have their ceremony outside like they had planned. When I arrived, the mist was heavy and my fear of not getting to shoot them outside was more intense. After checking out the grounds of the farm, I meet Andrea and her bridesmaids in the fabulous bridal suite that the 1812 Farm provides for their brides and grooms. It was amazing! Multiple rooms, a huge room for everyone to gather in, and even a hair and make up room. Even though the weather was not ideal, Andrea still hoped that the mist wouldn’t stop them from having their ceremony outside. Andrea and Doug, along with their wedding coordinator, decided within the hour of their ceremony to move it inside. Andrea and Doug were up for toughing it out but decided due to the guests and the muddy ground it was best for everyone to be inside. Even though the mist ruined the hope of being outside, the bridesmaids and Andrea took advantage of the yard games that Andrea and Doug had made for their guests to enjoy outside. There was an intense game of cornhole and lots of mimosas! Andrea and the girls were fun and relaxed. Andrea has an attention for detail and it was seen in everything! As someone who loves the details of weddings, I was thrilled to photograph every special touch. Once everyone was ready, it was time for there ceremony. I believe people had bets on whether Doug would tear up or not… well who ever did, won! Doug was full of so much emotion when he saw Andrea. Their vows promised things like killing spiders and yelling at sports on t.v., their vows were funny, serious, and so meaningful. Even though the ceremony had to be moved into the 1812 Farm barn, Andrea and Doug still had a confetti exit! I am so glad that the coordinator still let this happen! Since Andrea, Doug, and the bridal party didn’t mind the misty rain, we headed outside to take photos on the grounds of the 1812 Farm. For October, not many of the trees had changed color but there were at least a few! We took advantage of a gorgeous orange and green maple tree, it matched their wedding colors perfectly! Andrea and Doug’s wedding at the 1812 Farm, was nothing short of amazing. I laughed with them and even teared up. These two are crazy about each other and you can tell their life together is always going to involve a good laugh and lots of love.
