You may remember Kate and Steve’s sneak peek from their Belfast wedding this past fall. This Belfast, Maine wedding was a wedding that I was so excited for in 2014. I am always excited for all of my weddings but this one was even more exciting and special, all because I have known Kate for years, well basically for almost my whole life! Her younger brother and I have been friends since we were 4 years old. I have a lot of great memories from spending so much time at her parents’ house growing up. Kate was also super awesome while I was traveling for UMaine sports and let me crash at her home in Kittery on multiple occasions! During one of those occasions, I got the chance to meet Steve. From the first few minutes of seeing them together, I knew they had something really special. It wasn’t long after that, Kate and Steve got engaged and she moved to the Belfast area to be with Steve. You may remember their Belfast area engagement session from last winter, to refresh your memory click here.
The wedding day started with me meeting up with guys at Kate and Steve’s house. The boys had been out hunting prior to getting ready and were definitely not prepared when I arrived. They also hinted that they have no idea how to do all the technical “stuff” with their tuxes, like their cufflinks. After they were dressed and ready to go, it was time to go next door to be with Kate. She and her bridesmaids were having a blast! They adorably also had matching robes on and were ready to take some fun shoots. After everyone was ready, we headed to the Belfast Boathouse for the ceremony and reception. It was a pretty cloudy day and it looked like it was going to rain but it held off all day! We got really lucky since their ceremony was outside. The ceremony overlooked the Belfast Harbor and it was so pretty, especially since the harbor was full of sailboats. After the ceremony, I was able to sneak Kate and Steve away to get some of the most gorgeous photos of the two of them. Kate told me prior to the wedding that they loved to laugh and it was obvious, they were all smiles and giggles! After the sun set, it was time to party!! There were very special moments during the reception, the speeches of the maid of honor, the best man, and Kate’s dad speech, it was obvious that Kate and Steve are loved so incredibly much. They also had Kate’s two brothers sing their first dance song; it was amazing and so special! It was truly such an honor and pleasure to be able to capture such a special and amazing day for Kate and Steve!
There is always that bridesmaid that can make anyone laugh… can you guess which one that was?!
