I am going to admit, this blog post was a little difficult to write, not because Cassie and Scott aren’t awesome but because Cassie is one my childhood friends. Seeing Cassie marry Scott and the joyous events leading up to the big day just make me teary eyed. Cassie and Scott planned a small intimate wedding in Mapleton at Scott’s family home. Everything about the location was gorgeous and we got lucky with a beautiful day. Mapleton has always been one of my favorite places to shoot in Aroostook County because it is so serene. On the day of the wedding I met Cassie and her bridesmaids at her grandparents’ house. Her grandparents’ have a beautiful flower garden in front of their house and they had an amazing field of overgrown grass across the road and we used both for Cassie’s bridal portraits and for the girls’ photos. Cassie and the girls were great sports, they didn’t once complain about having to climb into the tall grass. I think it was worth it! Once we got to Scott’s family’s house, things started to move very quickly! Cassie and Scott had planned a good chunk of time before the ceremony but my goodness it flew right by! Maybe it was due to the girls and I  laughing and chatting while guests were being seated, not really sure! Either way, before I could really grasp that my friend was getting married, she was a married woman! There isn’t a better feeling than seeing one of your friends so incredibly happy. Cassie was full of love and smiles all day. It was one of the most beautiful things I have seen. When Scott looked at her you could tell her heart just melted. By the time sunset time came along we were granted with an out of this world sunset. Seriously it was gorgeous. Bright sun and thin clouds in one spot and a watercolored purple/pink sky in another spot. It was seriously a photographer’s dream. Scott and Cassie allowed me to work some magic and I can’t thank them enough for it. They were on cloud 9 all day and photographing them was so easy!

Cassie and Scott, I wish you both the happiest journey in this crazy thing called life. I can’t even put into words how happy I am that you found the person who completes you. You both deserve nothing but the best and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for both of you! (Oh, I definitely want to visit you guys in Arizona!)
